By walking or intending to walk the Augustine Camino, pilgrims and prospective pilgrims agree to the following:-
Pilgrimage is an activity with a danger of personal injury and in extremely rare cases, death. Specific risks include those from traffic, when walking along or crossing roads and the possibility of trips or falls when walking on uneven ground or climbing over stiles. These risks have been mitigated as far as possible but pilgrims should be aware of and accept them and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.
Pilgrims should ensure that they have the right level of fitness to complete the pilgrimage.
When employing an Augustine Camino pilgrim guide, the guide will carry a first aid kit and be trained in basic first aid. Pilgrims agree that medical treatment may be given to them if necessary, including the administration of a general anaesthetic and to surgical operations in the case of an emergency, in accordance with the recommendation of a qualified medical practitioner.
Pilgrims should ensure, where appropriate, that they have adequate medical, travel and personal accident insurance, particularly to cover the cost should they need to cancel the pilgrimage after non-refundable payments have been made.
Pilgrims are not insured by the Augustine Camino against personal accidents. We accept no responsibility for accidents or injury to pilgrims or for loss of or damage to personal effects.
Augustine Camino guides have public liability insurance to a maximum of £1,000,000.
